CBEH at the International Association for Dental Research (IADR) Conference

Five papers based on the work of CBEH researchers and colleagues from other universities were presented at the IADR Conference that was held in Vancouver from 19-22 June. They included papers on:

  1. Planning for the Oral Health Workforce – Development and application of a Needs-based Planning Model (presented by Professor Stephen Birch)
  2. A Systematic Review of Oral Health Workforce Planning Models (presented by a co-author)
  3. Economic Evaluation Techniques and their Appropriateness for Dentistry (presented by Professor Birch)
  4. Randomised Control Trial of High Fluoride Toothpaste in Older High Risk Populations (the REFLECT trial) (presented by a co-author)
  5. Modelling the Effect of a Sugar-Sweetened Beverages Tax on Education (presented by Dr Sowa)

Professor Birch was also awarded the IADR’s 2019 Distinguished Scientist Award for his lifetime contribution to behavioural, epidemiologic and health services research.
