Dr Sabrina Lenzen from the Centre for the Business and Economics of Health (CBEH) recently received the Junior CINCH Research Fellowship. This competitive grant allowed Dr Lenzen to enhance her international research profile while visiting Essen, Germany.
The CINCH Health Economics Research Centre brings together 3 German health economic research institutions, the RWI Leibniz Institute for Economic Research, the University Duisburg-Essen, and Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf.
“This dynamic collaboration of expertise has established CINCH as a leader in the scientific and political discourse on health economics in Germany,” Dr Lenzen said.
“My research visit allowed me to showcase my work in a health economics seminar series and participate in the prestigious Essen Health Conference.”
Dr Lenzen was also able to present at 2 prestigious conferences, the European Society for Population Economics in Rotterdam, Netherlands and the European Health Economic Association Congress in Vienna, Austria.
Along with research opportunities, Dr Lenzen connected with high-profile researchers, including Professor Nils Gutacker, co-director of the REAL Supply Research Unit at the University of York and member of the German Expert Council on Health and Care, who will subsequently visit CBEH in December.
During her stay, Dr Lenzen and Dr Yaying Zhou from The University of Queensland School of Economics collaborated with CINCH researchers Professor Daniel Kühnle and PhD student Rebecca Leber. The researchers applied for the 2024 Australia-Germany Joint Research Cooperation Scheme.
If successful, the grant will strengthen the continued partnership between the Australian and German researchers.
